Notice of Completion of Construction of New Nissin Hungary Plant
NISSIN FOODS HOLDINGS CO., LTD. (President and Representative Director, CEO: Koki Ando, hereafter "the Company") is pleased to announce that construction of a new plant (in Kecskemét, Hungary) of its subsidiary Nissin Foods Kft. (President: Mitsuyuki Nishimori; hereafter "Nissin Hungary") was completed on Thursday, July 6, 2017.
The Nissin Foods Group ("the Group") announced its Medium-term Business Plan 2021 in May 2016. As a requirement for achieving global recognition as a global company, the Group is striving to achieve market capitalization of one trillion yen. As part of this effort, the Group is actively pursuing overseas business growth.
Since NISSIN FOODS GmbH was established in Germany in 1993, the Group’s European operation has continued to expand its market throughout Europe, particularly with global brands such as Cup Noodles and Demae Iccho. The yakisoba-type Soba brand that was originally created in Europe and released in 2012 has also expanded sales thanks to the unique qualities of the product. The Company has also generated synergy in the region through a partnership with the major UK-based food manufacturer Premier Foods plc (hereafter "PF"), with which the Company entered into a business tie-up in March 2016. For example, the Company has started to handle OEM production of PF brands and to expand the sales for Nissin brand items in the UK market through PF’s distribution network.
Nissin Hungry, positioned in the center of Europe, has been supplying products to the European region as a production base since it was established in 2004. With the construction of this new plant, Nissin Hungry will boost its production capacity to handle the expected further growth in demand in Europe while developing a stable supply system for high-quality products based on global standards.
